Liza Amor
Liza Amor was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y. She is a Buffalo Seminary alumna, class of 1998. While in high school Liza was an intern at El Museo El Olla y Diego Gallery in Buffalo, NY and an artist at the Locust Street Art Collective. Liza won the Margaret Hart Art Award in 1998 and had her artwork published on the cover of her magazine. She attended Parsons School of Design and SUNY at Buffalo for her B.F.A. in painting which she received in 2002.
In 2002 Liza had her first solo art exhibition at Temple Beth Am Art Gallery showing paintings she created after her first trip to Israel. Liza went onto pursue her Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Art Education at SUC at Buffalo.
Liza relocated from the east coast to Las Vegas in 2005 to teach art for Clark County School District. She has been the art teacher at John M. Tartan Elementary School for 5 years.
Liza’s artwork blends Judaica, calligraphy, and abstraction. She is very proud of her Sephardic (Spanish and Middle Eastern mixed) Jewish Heritage. Liza married Nir Amor in 2008, an Israeli businessman, and is now studying Hebrew while she works on her M.Ed. at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
