TEENS-ADULTS
Painting and other art techniques with Carol Hawley (ages 10-adult)
Instructor Carol Hawley. Cost $15 per class ($60 for the 4 classes). Each class is a 2 hour session, and classes run for 4 Saturdays . Classes take place Saturday of every week at City of the World (unless a field trip is planned), from 10am to 12pm. Classes are individualized for the student. Sunday, 2/5 Altered Books - Puzzle Board Books, part 3
Using a variety of mixed media, students will finish their altered board books. All materials supplied, however, if you have ephemera you would like to use, by all means bring it. 1-4 p.m. $35
Sunday, 2/19 Mini Journals Learn to use a variety of mixed media to create your own mini journal in this three hour class. The cover will be embellished using watercolor, acrylic, oil pastels, ink and markers. The pages are put together with a simple sewn binding. All materials supplied. 1-4 p.m. $35
Sunday, 2/26 Upcycled Art Journals In this monthly class you will create a visual art journal (using an old magazine) to document you own personal journey. New techniques and prompts are covered each month. All materials supplied. 1-3 p.m. $25
Sunday, 3/11 – All New! ALTERED BOOKS We’ve finished the board books and are moving on to hardcovers. In this class we’ll cut niches, make gel transfers, add pockets and more. Books and basic supplies are provided. You might want to bring your own ephemera as we progress. This is an ongoing class. 1-4 p.m. $35
Sunday, 3/18 – MEGA MAIL ART In this class you’ll learn a variety of techniques (watercolor, acrylic, marker, collage) to make envelopes, postcards, and a tiny treasure or two to send through the mail. Revive the lost art of correspondence, one letter at a time! No art experience required. All materials provided. 1-4 p.m. $35
Sunday, 3/25 – UPCYCLED JOURNALS Visual art journals are a great way to keep track of new techniques and processes while you document your personal creative journey. Each month we explore a new prompt and technique. Do you fear the “blank white page”? These journals are upcycled from magazines! Journals are available to purchase for $10, or bring your own magazine and learn to cover it yourself. This is a no-stress class – no art experience required! All materials provided. 1-3 p.m. $25

KIDS
Down ‘n’ Dirty art classes Ages 4 and up (parent child teams welcome)
Instructor: Roz Knight. Students of all ages will explore different medias to create unique art. Students will be encouraged to explore mediums to their ability for each project.
