Since I was able to pick up a pencil or paintbrush, I felt a desire to create art. Through drawing and painting I experience satisfaction and joy. I have been influenced by excellent artists, teachers, and books on art.
Oil and watercolor are my preferred mediums although I enjoy all forms of art and art media. Drawing and painting landscapes in the open air encompass most of my work.
I have studied art since I was quite young and have taught art since graduating from college. I enjoy teaching people of all ages in 2 dimensional media and technique.
My passion for art, art appreciation, and instruction are what I enjoy most. Preparation for each lesson is serious work for me, but it feels like play when it is time for the lesson to be taught and the students respond.
Over the years I have become an advocate for the arts through leadership in local and state art organizations. I count this service and recognition as a great honor and privilege.
It is my desire to continue to make time for art instruction and creation while attending to responsibilities of home, family, work, church and community. My life is rich and full because of the fine arts. The arts expand the heart and mind. Art is life, and for me – life is art.
