Roberto Rico is from The Artist’s Colony of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. At 16 he received a Scholarship to The National Institute of Fine Arts, which he attended for 2 years, and studied life drawing, design and composition. Roberto moved to California and enrolled in Moorpark College where he attended various art classes. After a career in printing, he moved to Las Vegas where his artistic hunger returned.

Roberto is currently volunteering as a drawing instructor in several community centers in Las Vegas. He is also President of the Vegas Artist Guild, Henderson Arts Association, Nevada Watercolor Society and the C.A.C.

His work has been shown in various art galleries including Lake Las Vegas Reflections Bay Art Gallery, Old Town Gallery, Bridge Gallery in Las Vegas City Hall, Henderson City Hall, Holsum Lofts and Twin Lakes Art Gallery.

Roberto has won several awards. “I love to paint, I paint in all media, Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Pen and Ink, Pastel and Chalk, but my love for Graphite Pencil keeps me alive and wanting to create more and more. I can make the Number two pencil as beautiful as any other media.”

“I have never been one to show off with credentials or titles, I am used to letting my work speak for itself. I am grateful and feel very fortunate that I am able to express some of my feelings through my work, but mainly I just draw and paint. So far the rewards have been countless.”
