There is always something going on at City of the World! Here’s the latest:
JURIED SHOWS!
Juried shows are scheduled for each month for August through December. Get started on your pieces with the following themes! It’s only $10 for the first piece; $5 thereafter
August’s theme was “Just for the Love of Art”.
September’s theme was “Size Matters” – no larger than 6 x 6 inches.
October –“Halloween Capers” – no larger than 18 x 24 inches – viewing and acceptance on September 27th between 1:00 and 4:00
November – “Giving Thanks” – maximum of 18 x 24 inches – viewing and acceptance on November 1st between 1:00 and 4:00.
December – “JOY II” – again, maximum of 18 x 24 inches – due to the Thanksgiving holiday, viewing and acceptance will be on an earlier date of November 22 between 1:00 and 4:00.
Be sure to enroll in classes being offered through the College of Southern Nevada!

Artist Brent R. Haug presents “Dreams” An Art Event! 8 New Paintings set in motion by professional dancers, lighting and an incredible soundtrack! Amazing! Saturday, October 11, at 6:30 PM AT THE PIRANHA NIGHTCLUB - 4633 Paradise Rd. (1 block south of the Hard Rock Hotel at the corner of Paradise and Naples). Tickets are $15 at the door. Purchase before event for $10. MUST BE 21 TO ATTEND! A portion of the proceeds will benefit Golden Rainbow. Enjoy a reception with food, cash bar, original art and prints available for purchase, a production show with superb dancers in a dazzling club. Get tickets early for $10 on First Friday at the City of the World Gallery, 1229 Casino Center at Colorado. If you charge your tickets through City of the World, Brent will donate 20% of the charged sales to City of the World towards its art education, marketing, etc. See Brent’s art on display at the City of the World Gallery at every First Friday event open 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

October’s Featured Artist is Pat Caspary. Pat holds a B.A. in Fine Arts and her specialty was print making, especially serigraphy. After a life time career as a museum store manager in Los Angeles and consultant she retired and embarked on a new venture in watercolor. Under the tutelage of Barbara Sindilair she learned the challenges and techniques of painting with watercolors. She was awarded a 1st in the 55th Roundup at the Las Vegas Art Museum and a 2nd in the Celebration Live 2007 exhibitions.
Her portfolio includes traditional transparent watercolors, whimsical quotes, lots of dragonflies and a current series of counterpoint concepts. Check out Pat’s Artisan’s webpage here.
